A little weekend scrapping and I started on this sweet Maya Road minibook project. I’m loving the whitewashed look with faded pinks, blues & creams. I’ve put together all the pages and now I’m going back to embellish each page. If you are meaning to start on a minibook project, take note, it takes a while to finish a really detailed piece. I had painted the chipboard days earlier but it took me the greater part of my Sunday working on the papers, picking photos and sticking them all and finally working on the cover and first two pages.

For sticking patterned paper onto bare chipboard, mod podge works best. Mod podge is painted on and the paper sticks nicely all over and you hardly get the ends peeling. Another good option is Beacon glue. This is a ‘do almost anything’ glue and all the smidapaper folk love it to bits.

Here’s an unfinished page. The temptation with this kind of project is to hurry up and finish it, because you just want to see it done. This time , though, you might want to exercise a little more patience to work on the details without rushing. I promise you’ll be happy with the result. I used papers from October afternoon FIve and Dime, Melissa Frances and The Girl’s Paperie. The little chipboard birdcage is from Maya Road

Now , see those little flowers? They were part of an antique lace collar that I-Mei found on her travels to Europe. I cut the little sweeties out and they added just the right touch to my project.
Unexpected treasure. =) I have a whole shelf in my craft cupboard dedicated to all forms of vintage lace and crinkly ribbon. Makes me happy! I’ll be sure to share more of this mini if I get a chance to work with it this week. If you’re working on a mini, too, send me a pic and I’ll be happy to post it here. Have a great week!

i am working on a mini album now but i have one question…
how do i punch the holes of my paper to fit onto the chipboard?
Hello,
Best way is to use a crop a dile, which punches through chipboard or paper.
One of my indispensable tools. =)
